Edition: 1,000 and 25 artist's proofs $125 The Resting Place, once the Stringtown Hotel, is an old house a mile south of Troy in Davis County, lowa. The general appearance is the same as it was a century ago when stage coaches stopped there en route between Keosauqua and Bloomfield. The arrangement of the house is unique having been built in two sections. Each section has a stairway to the upstairs, but there was no provision made for entry from one upstairs section to the other. The female hotel guests stayed in one section, males in the other. Stringtown, now a ghost town, only exists in the minds of area residents.
