Allandale Mansion, a classic example of Georgian architecture that is often called "Kingsport's White House," was built in 1950 by Ruth and Harvey Brooks as a working farm. When Harvey died in 1969, the farm was given to the city of Kingsport, Tennessee, with the condition that the mansion and surrounding land must be open to the public. Today, the mansion is a favorite spot for corporate meetings, conventions and weddings.
