P. Buckley Moss giclées are printed using the very latest form of high-tech, high quality art reproduction. We use the finest of substrates (premium acid free canvases and papers with a deckled edge) using archival, pigmented inks for long lasting works of art. Rich in texture and color, each reproduction has the look and feel of a highly prized original.

Capt. Sally Louisa Tompkins was born on November 9, 1833, at Poplar Grove Plantation in Mathews, Virginia. She founded Robertson’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, after the First Battle of Manassas and managed it during the war years of 1861-1865. During that time, she treated 1,333 soldiers, losing only 73. To enable her to stay open, Confederate President Jefferson Davis commissioned her a Captain in the Confederate Cavalry on September 9, 1861, opening the way for CSA funding. Her exemplary standards of cleanliness and care earned her the title “Angel of the Confederacy”. Capt. Sally passed away in Richmond at the age of 82 on July 26, 1916. She was buried at Christ Church in Mathews with full military honors.
