In 1958, Gertrude Ramey began a home in Ashland, Kentucky, to care for children without stable homes. In 1950, Hack Estep began an emergency shelter for boys. Now combined, the Ramey-Estep Homes create an opportunity for young people to make positive changes in their attitudes and behaviors in order to become responsible, productive members of society.
