The beautiful home of J. Sterling Morton, now Arbor Day Farm, is located at the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park and Arboretum in Nebraska City, Nebraska. The home was built in the late 1800's, and the grounds, which were located among the famous apple orchards of the city, became the site for a rigorous tree planting program. In 1872, Morton resolved to establish a national tree-planting day. The first Arbor Day was celebrated that year on April 10 and more than a million trees were planted across the state. Part of the proceeds from this print donated to the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, Nebraska City, NE.
